Golf Australia is thrilled to offer its Sporting Schools program, MyGolf, to children across Australia’s school yards. We are also pleased to partner with Sport Australia to deliver this $200 million Australian Government initiative to get more children playing more sport.
MyGolf is a joint venture between Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia, and is the national junior introductory program to develop and promote participation in golf. Through the MyGolf Sporting Schools program, we aim to introduce children to the game of Golf through fun, engaging and challenging games and activities that are easily suited and adapted for a range of age groups and skill levels.
As the national sporting organisation (NSO) for Golf, we offer schools and coaches quality programs that encourage children to participate in this great sport.
“Our MyGolf Sporting Schools program was fantastic. The professional coaches from the local Golf Club delivered a quality golf program to our kids. We now have resources now that we can use in our own PE lessons and sport. We would be happy to recommend the program to anyone that wishes to do golf at their school.” – Dean Knibbs, Wyong Christian Community College, Wyong, NSW
“Fantastic program. I thought the cost, equipment and overall professionalism of the coaches all worked well for our school. We have had very positive feedback from the parents of the children involved.” – Tim Watson, St Damian’s Primary School, Bundoora, Victoria
THE GOLF AUSTRALIA PRODUCTS
MyGolf is Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia’s national junior introductory program to develop and promote participation in golf. Through the MyGolf Sporting Schools program, we aim to introduce children to the game of Golf through fun, engaging and challenging games and activities that are easily suited and adapted for a range of age groups and skill levels.
Golf Australia's secondary schools program is a five session program that offers flexibility for teachers and coaches to teach the skills of golf in the secondary school environment. Students will learn the three swings in golf; putting, chipping and full swing as well as the strategy of game play through fun, challenging and student lead activities. There is also an option to incorporate a golf fitness component to the program to increase physical activity.
COACHES AND TEACHERS ARE OUR ASSETS
Golf Australia values the role of teachers not just in the classroom but in the school yard as well. Their enthusiasm for improving children’s lives is often understated. Society places its trust and confidence in teachers who as educators, have one of the most important roles for our children, outside of parents and carers.
Coaches are also a wonderful influence on children throughout their formative years. Coaches are the people who deliver the skills with fun and enjoyment.
