Do you remember your first goal, score or win when you played school sport and how did it feel?

When I was in Year 5 I was selected to attend the NSW Schoolboys Trial down on the South Coast. In one of the trial games I was lucky enough to score my first goal from a free kick and I was pretty happy with myself.

What’s your fondest memory of playing sport at school?

I really enjoyed every Friday because it was sports day. We would often play different sports every week and everyone got involved.

How old were you when it ‘clicked’ that you wanted to be a professional sports player?

When I was 12. The training started to get more intense and different sports began to clash so I had to choose one sport and focus on it.

What are your top three tips to children about playing sport?

  1. Make sure you really enjoy the experience
  2. Try different sports
  3. Play sport for as long as you can
