Do you remember your first goal, score or win when you played school sport and how did it feel?

Yes, when I was in year 10 I scored a few goals in a round game in the Cup competition to get us through to the next round.  It felt pretty good to be playing with my mates, some who didn’t play on weekends, and get the win.

What’s your fondest memory of playing sport at school?

Playing football in the playground in primary school at lunchtime with the older kids, who were in Years 4 and 5. It was fun and something to look forward to every day.

How old were you when it ‘clicked’ that you wanted to be a professional sports player?

From a young age.  I started playing football when I was 4 years old.  From about the age of 8, 9, 10 it was my dream to be a professional footballer.

What are your top three tips to children about playing sport?

  1. Relax. Don’t think about how you play. Just enjoy it.
  2. Enjoy the time playing with your friends.
  3. Have fun.
