Collaboration on the agenda at NSO Participation Forum

Recently the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) hosted a national sporting organisation (NSO) Participation Forum at the MCG with over 30 sports represented by more than 60 attendees.

The forum presented NSOs with insight into the ASC’s participation priorities as well as some key learnings, courtesy of both the AusPlay survey and recently completed Sporting Schools evaluation.

These sessions were aided by presentations from Australian Rugby Union on diversifying a traditional base, and by Tennis Australia on becoming relevant to the education sector, specifically in the education market and for Sporting Schools.

The information that was presented sparked some highly productive discussions surrounding how the sector should evolve to remain relevant in a changing marketplace. Sector collaboration was the order of the day and energy in the room was high – some innovative ideas and strategies were captured!

The presentations and notes from discussions have been shared on the Clearinghouse and it is hoped they stimulate ongoing conversations at both sport and sector level. For access to this content, please contact your NSO or ASC Participation Manager.
